8th Llanbedr Beer Festival at Llanbedr

A weekend for all lovers of real ale and local entertainment at the Ty Mawr, Llanbedr LL45 2NH

A large selection of Welsh beers and ciders, live entertainment, all proceeds go to local charities/community groups. 26 different ales supplied by 8 North Walian brewers and also three ciders.

Friday evening
On Friday evening, we have arranged for “Jazz Rag” to entertain you. Formed in 1992 by Morris Jones, they are a 5 piece Dixieland Jazz Band comprising of trumpet, saxophone, trombone, bass and drums. They have a weekly set at the Royal Oak Hotel, Betws y Coed as well as regular bookings for weddings and other events.
An excellent accompaniment to good beer!

Saturday afternoon
To fill this spot, we are very lucky to have a return visit from ‘our very own Gerry’. A local lad known for his own style of entertainment. He sings in both Welsh and English. Memories are rekindled when he plays his guitar the way The Shadows used to.

Saturday evening
Eryl ‘ELJ’ Jones is a Porthmadog legend whose talents seem to know no stylistic boundaries! His group of North West Wales based musicians offers a music session that ranges from Welsh, traditional Irish, Hungarian, Bluegrass, Gypsy jazz and Americana. Inspired by the great vocalist and songwriter Tom Waites, ELJ will also dazzle with his technical skills on all the fretted string instruments. With ELJ are the violin virtuoso Billy Thompson – a bandleader in his own right who appears regularly on S4C, together with top local session musicians Andy Mackenzie (guitar) and Greg Robley (double bass).
