Victoria Wells Off-Road Circuit at Llanwrtyd Wells

1. (00km) START from the square in Llanwrtyd Wells with your back
to the Neuadd Arms Hotel (GR 879467) and take the A483(T) towards Llandovery.
Cross the bridge and TURN R towards Victoria Wells just after the row of shops.
(GR 877 466) Soon after leaving the town, the road starts to climb, keep L. At
Victoria Wells cross cattle grid and TURN L
(GR 868469).

2. (1.lkm/0.7m) This track takes you between the wooden chalets and onto a track into the woods. It is muddy in places as it winds and climbs to a small gate. The first part of the section after the gate is 'very eroded and will require a short push up to a track T junction (GR.865 467). 1.6km (1 m). TURN R. This track starts off level but soon becomes a slightly tricky stony descent. At the next junction (the forest edge) (GR 864472) 2.2km (1.4m) TURN L, through gate and onto forest road, which soon starts a gradual climb to the next junction (GR 855 475).

3. (3.3km/2m) TURN L. Follow this uphill forest road to next junction (GR 858468) and KEEP L. At the next junction (GR.849 467)6.5km (4m) KEEP Land start a fast forest road descent (watch out for the very sharp right hand hairpin bend!) for 2.5km(1.6m). At the next junction (GR 855 475) 9km KEEP L (you've been here before) and carry on to the gate and junction that you were at earlier (GR 864 472). 10.1km (6.3m). TURN L and follow this fairly wide track down past Dinas Mill to the church (at old Llanwrtyd) (GR 864478).

4 (1O.7km16.7m). TURN R onto road, cross the bridge and conclude the route back to Llanwrtyd Wells which is 2km(1 .25m).
