Beaches and Coast in Mid Wales

Mid Wales boasts miles of unspoilt coastline, award-winning beaches and if you are very lucky you might even spot a few dolphins that are regular visitors in Cardigan Bay.

You'll find small seaside towns and villages, coastal walks overlooking Cardigan Bay, wonderful wildlife, watersport activities, and everything else that you would expect from one of the finest coastlines in the UK.

The historic town of Cardigan is the starting point for the Mid Wales section of the Wales Coast Path, and on your travels why not jump aboard the Cambrian Coast Railway which has recently been recognised as one of the world’s most spectacular railway trips.

Highlights to discover include Cardigan Castle, Llanerchaeron near the coastal town of Aberaeron, the University town of Abersytwyth - the largest town on the Mid Wales coast, explore the Dyfi Biosphere, and on the Snowdonia Coast, visit Portmeirion in the north with nearby Barmouth in the shadow of the Mawddach Estuary and Cader Idris.
