spa towns

Visitors came to Mid Wales to ‘take the waters' at the ‘Wells' towns. Even the Romans knew about the mineral rich waters. You can still take the waters in Llandrindod Wells but it is a lot more fun coming for the annual Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival held in August.

The Showground at Builth Wells, holds events throughout the year. Including, every July, the Royal Welsh Show. Four packed days where the world arrives at this little town in Mid Wales. Builth Wells also has the Wyeside Arts Centre and an interesting six arched bridge.

Llanwrtyd Wells is the smallest town in Britain and it holds some of the most interesting events - for example - the World Bog Snorkelling Championships. Llangammarch Wells completes the group - all connected by the Heart of Wales Railway Line.
