AberaeronAberaeron is a pretty seaside town on the Ceredigion coast. It was planned and built on a grand design by the Rev. Alban Thomas Jones. As a result, architecturally it seems unusual in this part of rural Wales, having more in common with the elegant Regency style of building than other towns in the area.
It is a predominately Welsh speaking town, with some 70% of the inhabitants able to speak the language, and much of daily life in shops and businesses is conducted through the medium of Welsh here.
The town is noted for its local honey, and more recently the honey ice-cream and honey mustard produced locally.
