History and Heritage

Two castles Harlech and Powis, both Welsh but two very different histories. At Harlech, people remember Owain Glyndwr - a Welsh hero. At Powis - there is a strong link with Clive of India a very British connection.

Farming, especially sheep and the Welsh Black cattle are part of the present landscape. Sheep and the woollen industry are part of our heritage, especially in the Severn and Teifi Valleys.

Slate and mining and the narrow gauge steam railways, linking the quarries and the ports, linking Mid Wales to the world.
