Situated in the Vale of Usk, this market town is the gateway to the Brecon Beacons National Park. Famous for the annual Abergavenny Food Festival, the town boasts a weekly market, castle, museum and good shopping. Nearby is the Blaenavon World Heritage site comprising of Blaenavon Ironworks and the Big Pit Mining Museum of Wales, the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway and Clydach Gorge.
