Special Stages 4 & 8 of the Wales Rally GB take place on Friday 28 October at Dyfnant which is located north-west of Welshpool/south-east of Llanfyllin. The day will start with three stages west of Llanidloes/Llangurig (Myherin, Sweet Lamb and Hafren) and the first car is due at Dyfnant for Stage 4 at 11.08. The crews then travel to the Newtown regroup before repeating the morning stages with the first car due to return back to Dyfnant for Stage 8 at 16.41.
The 2016 FIA World Rally Championship consists of 14 rounds taking place on five continents with a round in China for the first time; it started with the Monte Carlo Rally in January and finishes in Australia. The penultimate round will be the Dayinsure Wales Rally GB which will take place in Mid and North Wales from the evening of Thursday 27 through to Sunday 30 October. It will have the longest itinerary in recent years and the 22 special stages (of which 14 will be in Mid Wales) include many of the established classic tests plus some exciting new additions and revisions. The new dates for this year means that the Rally will coincide with schools October half-term week - there will be FREE admission for those aged 15 and under.
The Rally Park Fermé will be at the Deeside Rally Village; the Ceremonial Start for the Rally will take place on Thursday evening in Parc Eirias, Colwyn Bay. Saturday 29th will include another 7 Mid Wales Special Stages plus one at Cholmondeley Castle (15 miles east of Wrexham) which will host the Rallyfest in the afternoon; Sunday 30th has 6 Special Stages in North Wales with the finish at Llandudno.
