Ystradgwyn chapel used to be the centre of activity and social life in the beautiful secluded valley of Tal-y-llyn with its famous wild trout lake and source of the Dysynni river which flows to the sea near Tywyn. Many crystal clear streams flow from the surrounding hills, the main peak towering above being Pen-y-Gader, the summit of Cader Idris.

The Heritage Centre is very easy to find being half way between Dolgellau and Machynlleth. Take the A487 from either town, and after approx 8 miles, at the Minffordd Hotel, turn on to the B4405. The Centre is some 500 yds/mts down that road, by D?l Einion Campsite. There is ample Parking at Ystradgwyn Centre, from where a pleasant walk can be taken around Tal-y-llynLake should people wish to do that after participating in the programme.
