Details

The Sportsman, Monty’s Breweries very own Tap House, is a town centre pub located in Newtown, just a short walk from the train and bus stations. It boasts ten hand pulls, five of which will always have a perfect pint of Monty’s ale while the others will have either guest ale or ciders.
The pub has won CAMRA Montgomeryshire Pub of the Year and also CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year. The Sportsman is the local meeting place for the Montgomeryshire branch of CAMRA with regular meetings and gatherings taking place here.
There are no meals served, however there are many local food outlets that you are more than welcome to enjoy here along with a pint from the bar. It is possible to host an event or gathering here at The Sportsman and food can be provided for this on discussion with Mel and Karen.
With a roaring wood burning stove in the main bar, pool table and dart board and a rear patio there is something for every time of year. Mel has also gained the well-respected Cask-Marque certificate which ensures that every pint that is poured at the Sportsman is crystal clear and of the perfect temperature!
