Join students on our MSc Renewable Energy and the Built Environment programme and gain a comprehensive overview of wind power systems.
Aimed at engineers, planners, system specifiers and architects amongst others, the course covers stand-alone and grid connected systems, wind analysis and turbine sighting, generators, rotor design and speed control.
Primarily aimed at engineers, planners or members of the construction and energy industries.
This course covers all areas of wind power, so those with no experience of the technology will be able to follow, but some extra reading beforehand is recommended.
Main Topics of Study:
• Standalone and Grid connected wind system.
• Wind analysis and turbine siting.
• Rotor design and speed control.
