Cymerau Farm is tucked away in the hills above the Dyfiy valley, not far from the historic town of Machynlleth. Offering 2 self-catering properties furnished to the highest standards.

The surrounding countryside is of outstanding beauty, and offers peace and seclusion without being too remote.

Local activities include mountain-biking, horse-riding, fishing, golfing and coastal sports such as windsurfing.

Machynlleth 7 miles. Aberystwyth 13 miles. Aberdyfi 17miles. Children are welcome though it should be noted that there are two streams nearby, and farm animals grazing in the adjacent fields.

The cottage has a walled and gated garden. Please note that smoking is strictly not permitted in these properties.

    The accomodation is very nice, the Hosts are extremely friendly. The drive up to the house is very steep and narrow, that could have been a warning beforehand.
    There is no mobile reception and when the Hosts went away for their Holiday the Internet Connection was not working any more.
    So if you like a very secluded Holiday in beautiful mountains then it is perfect.

    Driving on the A487 Machynlleth to Aberystwyth, turn sharp left between 2 houses after bus shelter on entering Eglwys Fach. Up single track lane, over grid, over bridge by a farm.

    Continue for 0.5 mile and take the right fork by farm buildings. Through gate and you will see signs for Cymerau Farm.

    • Accessibility --- Tyr Beudy Cottage. From main road. - Just under a mile along a single track public road, then 300 metres along well- laid farm track. One gate to open/close. - Public transport. Bus stop very close to junction with main road. Train station 2 miles. Reception/Laundry/phoneroom. (key supplied.) - bellpush to contact proprietor (if needed) - 2 small steps 1.1m wide 5cm high to double door. - Distance from cottage 14 metres - Standard size washing machine with drying rack (no extra charge) - Public payphone and noticeboard. - Free use of walkie-talkies (on windowsill) - 3 seater sofa and armchair. The cottage. The cottage (and reception) are approached from the concrete farmyard, where parking for up to 2 cars is provided. Direct access is via an upwards-sloping concrete path with 7 marked steps, total 30 metres. Another indirect route is via a sloping path without steps starting at the far end of the yard . (total 50 metres). The last few metres to the cottage entrance door follow a concrete garden path, and there is a lightweight gate (1 metre wide) which is left open for new arrivals. The cottage garden consists of 2 terraced lawns, planted borders and raised flower beds, including a small pond and rockery. Part of it is sloping. It has a stone wall perimeter. - 2 entrance steps to cottage door (76cm wide) 4 an 3 cm high respectively. - Open plan sitting/dining room and kitchen. - Sitting area with one 3 seater sofa and 2 armchairs. - Remote control TV offering large selection of TV and radio programmes. - Dining area with extendable table and 5 chairs. - Kitchen entrance 1.4 metres wide, worktop height 90cm, side-opening oven door. - One double bedroom downstairs, accessed through doorway 76cm wide. - One twin bedroom upstairs via 2 flights (one 8, the other 3) with banisters on right hand side. - Upstairs landing has removable security gate at top of stairway. (stored on left). - Downstairs bathroom accessed to left on entry to cottage. Door width 76c m. Concertina shower door (2 small steps to access.) sink and toilet. (sitting height 45cm) - Generally light switches and power points in the cottage are at a sensible height. - Mobile phone reception. The nearest reception is by the second cattle grid about three quarters of a mile towards the main road. -
