This large 200 year old cottage provides an excellent base for exploring the diverse parts of mid Wales. Ideally suited for families, walkers, bikers (cyclists) and general outdoor enthusiasts, with many surrounding bridleways, walks and forestry commission tracks alongside the picturesque Artist’s Valley to explore within the immediate vicinity.
London House is situated approx. 6 miles from Machynlleth and approx. 12 miles from the coastal town of Aberystwyth and the Cardigan Bay coastline, which is famous for its beautiful, unspoilt beaches is close by. Eglwys Fach is also within a stone’s throw of the RSPB Ynysir Hir bird reserve (as featured on BBC’s Spring Watch.)
Machynlleth, the ancient seat of the Welsh government is just 5.5 miles whilst Aberystwyth an interesting Victorian seaside resort with a modern marina is just 12 miles away from the cottage, in addition there are several unspoilt beaches within easy reach.
The cottage is ideal for a large family or multiple groups with two lounges downstairs, one of which has the original oak beams and a log burning stove, a modern kitchen/diner with three large bedrooms situated upstairs.
London House offers well presented accommodation which consists of the following:
A traditional lounge with modern seating that includes Freeview, Wi-Fi, DVD player and Wii (please feel free to bring your own games). The second lounge is equipped with a sofa bed that is intended for occasional use, in order to meet individual guest’s needs a TV and games.
The kitchen is well equipped with modern fitted units, double oven with ceramic hob, combination microwave and fridge/freezer. The dining area contains a pine dining set to seat six people with additional folding chairs to seat a maximum of eight if required. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and dishwasher, next to which is situated a modern wet room with shower WC and hand basin.
Upstairs is accessed via an attractive spiral staircase where three bedrooms and a family bathroom, with bath WC and hand basin are located. The first bedroom is very spacious with a king sized bed, wardrobe and bedside cabinets. The second bedroom contains a double bed, fitted wardrobe and bedside cabinets. The third bedroom is a twin room with two single beds bedside drawers and cabinets.
• A high chair and cot are available on request (please bring own linen for the cot).
