Friday 28 October will see 6 Special Stages of the Wales Rally GB take place to the west of Llanidloes and Llangurig/east of Aberystwyth with two stages each at Myherin, Sweet Lamb and Hafren. Stage 1 will be at Myherin (first car due 08:15), Stage 2 Sweet Lamb (09:06) and Stage 3 Hafren (09:19). The crews will then head to the Dyfnant Special Stage 4 (south-west of Llanfyllin) and on to the Regroup/Tyre fitting zone at Newtown and Llanidloes for refuelling. The cars return to Myherin at 13:48 for Stage 5, Sweet Lamb (Stage 6 14.39) and Hafren (Stage 7 14:52). The final Stage of the day will be a re-run of Dyfnant.
The 2016 FIA World Rally Championship consists of 14 rounds taking place on five continents with a round in China for the first time; it started with the Monte Carlo Rally in January and finishes in Australia. The penultimate round will be the Dayinsure Wales Rally GB which will take place in Mid and North Wales from the evening of Thursday 27 through to Sunday 30 October. It will have the longest itinerary in recent years and the 22 special stages (of which 14 will be in Mid Wales) include many of the established classic tests plus some exciting new additions and revisions. The new dates for this year means that the Rally will coincide with schools October half-term week - there will be FREE admission for those aged 15 and under.
The Rally Park Fermé will be at the Deeside Rally Village; the Ceremonial Start for the Rally will take place on Thursday evening in Parc Eirias, Colwyn Bay. Saturday will include another 7 Mid Wales Special Stages plus one at Cholmondeley Castle (15 miles east of Wrexham) which will host the Rallyfest in the afternoon and Sunday 30th has 6 Special Stages in North Wales with the finish at Llandudno.
