The Source of the River Severn to Llanidloes walk is a 16 mile / 25 kilometre route which which takes you deep into the heart of Hafren Forest.

The river falls over 1,500 feet (470m) during its first dozen or so miles and the walking route reflects this descent with steep paths and scrambles beside waterfalls leading down to forest tracks in Hafren Forest.

Parking is available in Llanidloes or at the Rhyd-y-benwch car park, which is the starting point for the walk.

Taxis are also available from Llanidloes to Rhyd-y-benwch and
Royal Mail postbus service runs between Llanidloes and Rhyd-y-benwch (Tel: 01938 552539).
