Details

The cottages are ideally located in the heart of Mid Wales, set in stunning countryside yet close to the bustling market towns of Llanidloes and Machynlleth. You will have easy access to a wide range of sporting and leisure activities for all ages on your doorstep including walking in the Hafren forest, fishing and sailing on Llyn Clywedog, and shooting and mountain biking throughout the year. The Welsh coast including Aberystwyth and Aberdovey are 45 minutes away by car should you wish to see the beautiful beaches, check out the shops or sample the delicious local ice cream!

We offer discounts to small parties (4 or less) and both cottages are available for short breaks.

Our award winning, 4 star cottages are set in 60 acres of an historic former working farm, rolling hills, sheep-speckled fields, wetlands, pine trees, woodlands and a large wildlife pond. We are located in their own valley in the shadow of Pumlumon, within the Cambrian Mountains.

The cottages, Bwthyn Cwmbiga and Cwmbiga Bach, provide a great base for family activity holidays or for breaks from the hustle and bustle of modern life. They have underfloor central heating and a cosy wood-burning stove. Each cottage sleeps up to 7 in 2 double rooms, 1 twin en-suite room and a single bedroom. There is a separate family showerroom. All linen (excluding towels) is provided, as is fuel for the wood burner.

Facilities include washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, electric hob and oven, fridge freezer, DVD and CD player, and TV with Freesat.

Outside, Cwmbiga is a haven for wildlife of all sorts including lizards, newts and 80+ species of birds resident at different times of the year. There’s a stone barbecue on the south facing patio in front of each cottage, which catches the sun all day long, and tables and chairs from which to watch the world go by.

There’s ample car parking adjacent to the cottages. Inside, they are all on one level. One small pet is welcome per cottage for an additional charge of £20. Walkers, cyclists and horse riders very welcome - stabling and overnight grazing is available for up ot 5 horses for a fee of £5 per horse. We also have a drying room for any wet kit.

Please note there is limited mobile signal and wifi here due to our rural location - we think this is a blessing for the ultimate 'getting away from it all' break!
