The newly refurbished and well equipped bunkhouse at Y Dolydd Llanfyllin Workhouse offers a unique holiday experience. Stay in one of the last remaining Victorian Workhouses still open to the public. 24 bed bunkhouse available March - October inclusive for individuals, families or groups, Y Dolydd is the perfect base for your holiday and is also available for exclusive hire for your private party, wedding or function.

Facilities include:
•Self-catering kitchen with electric hob, fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster
•Unisex toilets and hot showers
•Fire pit with outdoor seating and cob oven
•Extensive gardens and grounds to explore and enjoy
•Professional kitchen and catering service, fully licensed bar and venue also available for private parties, weddings and functions

Situated near the Welsh border with Shropshire in the historical town of Llanfyllin, Powys, home of the Lonely Tree recently named Welsh Tree of the Year, Y Dolydd – Llanfyllin Workhouse offers the ideal base for exploring this wonderful area.

Close to the Berwyn Mountains National Nature Reserve, both a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Protection Area (SPA), this beautiful area offers access to a range of outdoor and adventure activities. Nearby attractions include Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, the tallest single drop waterfall in the UK and Lake Vyrnwy, a hidden gem with array of walks to suit all abilities, cycle hire, water sports, sculpture park, tea rooms and RSPB nature reserve.

Offa’s Dyke and Glyndwr’s Way National Trail is also easily accessible as is the beautiful Montgomery Canal and the historic Llanymynech Limeworks. For those on two wheels the B4391 which runs from Llanfyllin to Bala and is one of the most popular east-west routes across Wales for avoiding heavy traffic and there’s also the Revolution Bike park at nearby Llangynog. For those seeking action and adventure the adrenalin highs of the Snowdonia National Park include ZipWorld, the World’s longest zip line and BounceBelow, the World’s first subterranean playground.
