Details

Wernhir Farm B&B is a Mid Wales working farm in the scenic Wye Valley, Powys, close to Newbridge-on-Wye, Builth Wells, Rhayader and Llandrindod Wells.

This 4 star farmhouse B & B provides visitors with a traditional Welsh Farm House breakfast, evening meals by prior arrangement made with home produced food homely accommodation, real fires and separate guest lounge as well as onsite parking and WiFi. Children are very welcome and evening meals are available locally at the friendly country pub, a 5 minutes drive from the farm.

Proprietor Monica Fairclough has over 30 years experience of running this very successful Farmhouse B & B. Monica was awarded 4 stars in 2009, endeavours to provide best possible breakfast and minimise food miles. The eggs are bought from a free range farm ½ mile up the road. The bacon comes from Bob the butcher in Rhayader. Tomatoes and mushrooms are bought from the local market in Llandrindod Wells. The sausages are delivered by Hipkins George in Newtown.

Room 1 (also known as the Family Room) a charming family en-suite bedroom that offers all facilities providing comfort and homeliness. There is a very comfortable double bed and a single bed. This room is mainly used for couples with young children. The wall paper is from Laura Ashley and the soft furnishing is also from Laura Ashley. The satin wood furniture in this room belonged to Monica’s grand mother, Nanna Powell. There is a lovely view of the garden from the window and one can also see a field and a pine forest. This is a quiet room with a lovely view, a practical ensuite and stylish interior.

Room 2 (also known as the Best Bed Room), is a spacious room has a lovely view over Dolfan Hill. This hill changes colour with seasons, it is a rusty red in the autumn, green in spring and summer with the farm's “special sheep”- pet sheep, pedigree sheep etc.

Room 3 is also known as the Black and White room. This is a king size double ensuite room which has a Black and White scheme and has a pastoral view of the field where the rams are kept. One can also see the Dolfan hill which changes colour depending on the time of day and the time of year. This is the most quiet room in the house and all our visitors love this room because: it has a king size bed, a bath (and a shower) and a large ensuite. The antique furniture in this room has been lovingly restored and painted for a new lease of life.

Room 4 is a twin bedroom with large ensuite and garden view. This room has 2 single beds which can easily be made into a king size double if necessary. Featuring oak doors and Laura Ashley “Sea Spray” bedding and curtains. This room faces the farm and visitors are able to see what is happening on the farm from the window
