The Old School House is situated in the beautiful Pennant Valley, close to the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park, making this the ideal location to explore this wonderful scenic area of Wales, whether by bike, foot or in a vehicle.

Accommodation consists of two comfortable bedrooms, one twin and one king-sized double. The twin room can also occupy one child aged 10 - 12yrs on a fold-up bed at an extra cost of £25.00. Both rooms have exclusive use of a family-sized bathroom, Freeview flat screen television, Hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

Guests can relax in our large conservatory which look out on the garden and surrounding hills.

Whether it's Karen's welsh cooked breakfast (made from locally sourced ingredients), the coast or the countryside, the area has so much to offer that you will find it hard to leave, and so easy to return, whatever the season.

Local activities include cycling, walking, quad-biking, moto-cross and rally, bird watching, white-water rafting, and fishing. See the 'Places to Visit' page for more information.

We are able to store bikes/motorbikes safely in a secure garage, if you have wet clothes we have an outhouse where we can dry them off. If you require an evening meal I provide one at £12.50 per person and it includes main meal and desert, if packed lunches are required I can do this at £5.00 per person, these must be asked for before your arrival and the food is of a home based fare. One child aged betwen 10 and 12 can share the twin room, (sleeping on a fold up bed), with their parents at an additional cost of £25.00. Children welcome from age 10.

From the South

From the A44, Rhayader to Aberystwyth turn right at the roundabout at Llangurig onto the A489/A470. At the roundabout on the Llanidloes bypass turn left and then turn right at the mini roundabout, go over the River Severn bridge and immediately turn left onto the B4518. Continue for 11 miles, passed Lyn Clywdog Reservoir and Staylittle, as you enter Pennant; take the first turning on your left(30 yards passed Pennant sign). The Old School House is 200 metres along the road on the right.

From the North

From Newtown proceed along the A489 towards Llangurig / Llanidloes, after about 6 miles turn right onto the A470 (just before level crossing). Continue through village called Carno, and after about 3 miles at Talerddig fork left sign posted Bontdalgadfan. Continue through Bontdalgadfan and turn left at the T-Junction (B4518). Proceed to Pennant, down over the bridge, then up the hill and turn right into a no through road. The Old School House is 200 metres along the road on the right.
