Rainbow Trails / Penyffordd at Dyfnant & Vyrnwy Forests

Dyfnant Forest is home to the Dyfnant Rainbow Trails, designed with horses in mind but also welcoming walkers. There are 5 waymarked trails starting from the Penyffordd Car Park. The trails through rolling hills and lush green valleys range from the easiest which is the 5 mile Banwy Trot or, for the more experienced, two 16 milers for a full day's ride.

Penyffordd Car Park is purpose built with a one way system that allows drivers of horse boxes a roll in roll out system. There is ample parking for horse trailers and cars as well as a corral for horses.

Carriage driving trails in the Dyfnant Forest start from Hendre Car Park just before Pont Llogel.

Sections 8 - 10 of the Dyfnant Horse trails will be closed due to Harvesting operations from June 2012 to September 2012 inclusive.

By Car: Access to the Dyfnant Forest is from 3 car parks.

Penyffordd Car Park: Located on the B4395 between Llangadfan and Lake Vyrnwy.

Hendre Car Park: From the Penyffordd Car Park, turn left on to the A4395 and follow for 1.5 miles / 2.6 km before turning left by a house on the corner. The Hendre Car Park is 300 metres up this road on the right hand side. OS Grid Reference SJ029148.

Pont Llogel Car Park: On th eB4395, proceed into the hamlet of Pont Llogel. Just over the bridge on the right hand side you will find the car park. OS Grid Reference: SJ033154

Llangadfan is the nearest village to Dyfnant Forest.
