This cycle route begins in Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey and follows the Cardigan Bay coastline south towards Dolgellau.

The section of cycle route accross Anglesey is largely on-road however they are less primary roads. There is a section of traffic free cycle paths between Bangor via Caernarfon through to Porthmadog.
Down the coast between Porthmadog and Barmouth the route is largely on-road and occassionally follows the A496. However between Barmouth and dolgellau the cycle route is largely traffic free as it follows the Mawddach Trail which runs the course of the old railway.

The cycle route can be accessed at Holyhead and follows the Southern half of the Isle of Anglesey. It crosses the Menai Bridge to access the mainland and passes through Caernarfon and Porthmadog before reaching Dolgellau.
