To the north of Barmouth near Tal-y-bont, Bennar's fine, sandy beach is backed by the occasional sand dune. These sand dunes are of Special Scientific Interest, since they are constantly developing and therefore changing their environment. Whilst relaxing on this beach the views come alive, its possible to see the splendid Gwynedd coastline, to the north and to the south. Conditions here are excellent for surfing, and its believed that Bennar is one of the best places in the area for consistently good waves. Others come to Bennar to fish, where you’ll find bass, flounders, dogfish and plaice.

Green Coast and Seaside Award beach. Toilets and parking. Dog restrictions apply April to end September.
