Barmouth/Abermaw railway station is on the Cambrian Coast Line from Machynlleth to Pwllheli and is located by a level crossing just off the A496 which runs through the town. The postcode is LL42 1LS. Independent ticket office open May to September Mondays to Saturdays 08.30 – 16.30. Live Departure screens. Cycle storage stands.

The station is very close to the centre of the town and to the promenade. There is a drop off point for each platform, and local public transport is available in the town centre. Car parking is located adjacent to the railway station.The southbound platform is home to Barmouth's tourist information centre which provides a travel information service; the building also houses a small museum devoted to the history of the town.

Train times from 11 December to 20 May 2017 are:-

Departures for Machynlleth/arrivals from Pwllheli Monday to Saturday at 06.46 (starts here), 07.46, 08.52 & approx. every two hours until 18.57; last train at 21.46. Sunday train at 15.01. All except for the 07.46 & the 21.46 Mon - Sat trains connect to Birmingham; the 07.46 connects to Shrewsbury.

Departures for Pwllheli/arrivals from Machynlleth Monday to Saturday at 06.04 (terminates here), 07.47, 10.01 & approx. every two hours until 20.04; last train at 22.47. Sunday train at 19.49. All except the 06.04 & 07.47 Mon - Sat connect with trains from Birmingham; 56 minute wait at Machynlleth for the 22.47 Mon to Sat.
